Dominican Church Vienna

Also know as Saint Maria Rotunda church, built in 1631-1674 this is currently my favourite in Vienna. I keep meaning to go outside and get photographs of the autumn colours but find myself curiously peeking into all the cool, ornate buildings in Vienna’s 1st district.

This church has some fascinating little details which I would love to learn more about, such as the statue close to the doors with the large knife in his head and on the other side the a chubby baby with a veil across its face. I have googled as much as I can but cannot find any information on these details.

I spent a lot longer in this church just walking around and discovering things. I will definitely be revisiting it and I will be taking my visitors here too. I haven’t been in Vienna for long but the city has some amazing things to see and experience.
