Narai-juku, one of the stops along the old Nakasendō, which was the old mountain route from Edo (Tokyo) to Kyoto. It’s around 534km long. This little village is perfectly preserved and lovingly looked after. It’s a small town with a really good little place to stay overnight (the first building on the left hand side of the photo). It has great little shops full of products made from fresh fruit to sake to wooden crafts. Fantastic little place.
